Effect of tourniquet
ผลของการรัดเพื่อห้ามเลือด

ในการผ่าตัดบริเวณแขนขา โดยเฉพาะบริเวณมือ การทำให้บริเวณผ่าตัดปราศจากเลือด(bloodless operative field) นับว่ามีความสำคัญอย่างยิ่งต่อการหา เย็บซ่อมแซม โครงสร้างต่างๆเช่น เส้นเอ็น เส้นประสาทและหลอดเลือดเป็นต้นอีกทั้งยังช่วยให้การผ่าตัดเป็นไปได้อย่างราบรื่นมีการบาดเจ็บต่อเนื้อเยื่ออ่อนน้อยซึ่งจะลดปัญหาการติดแน่นหลังการผ่าตัด (postoperative adhesion) วิธีการที่นิยมใช้ในปัจจุบันคือการใช้ tour-niquet ช่วยห้ามเลือดในระหว่างการผ่าตัด ซึ่งต้องใช้ด้วยความระมัดระวังต้องคำนึงอยู่เสมอถึงผลและอันตรายที่อาจจะเกิดขึ้นจากการใช้ tour-niquet
