Introduction: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease and it can cause many complications to a patient. Self Care behavior of the patients is a very important issue to help control the disease and prevent complication. For example, when one diabetic patient has a retinal complication, it may progress to blindness 25 times more often than in normal people. Objective: To study the self care behavior of Non-insulin dependent diabetic patients with early diabetic retinopathy. Design: Descriptive study Location: Out Patient Department of Ophthalmology, Srinagarind Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University. Sampling: Purposive sampling of 66 Non insulin dependent diabetic patients with early diabetic retinopathy were selected. Method: Derive questionnaire (Boonthip Siritharungsri) Result: The self care behavior of Non insulin dependent diabetic patients with early diabetic retinopathy was in the moderate level (77.3%). Conclusion: The self - care behavior of Non insulin dependent diabetic patients with early diabetic retinopathy was in the moderate level. . . .
